About

Blue Paws Association Inc.was established in 2023 after Geoff and Kristy Steel took on the care of retired Police Dog Hondo, with the sole mission of providing a secure retirement for retired Police Dogs in Queensland, Australia.

Our mission was inspired because when the dogs retire the responsibility for their care falls solely onto the handler if they are keeping the dog or their new owners. Unfortunately, there is no pension or superannuation fund for Retired Police Dogs and this leaves these animals without any financial support after a lifetime of service to our community.

We are a non-profit organization and rely on generous donations from individuals and businesses to sustain our mission.

Our team of dedicated volunteers works tirelessly to ensure that our retired Police Dogs are well cared for and have access to everything they need to live a healthy and happy life in retirement.

We understand that every retired Police Dog has a unique story, and we strive to make sure each of them is provided with the care they deserve.

We provide a range of services to these animals, including medical care, food and rehabilitation just to name a few.

Our vision is to create a world where retired Police Dogs are given the same level of care and respect that they have earned through their service to the community.

We are committed to helping these animals live long and healthy lives, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every retired police dog will be able to enjoy a comfortable and secure retirement.

Due to their working life they are unable to get pet insurance when they retire to help with ongoing treatments and vet bills that can run into the thousands. This is why BPA Inc. was founded to fill that gap.

Everyday Queensland Police Dogs are on the frontline keeping us safe with their handlers. From finding missing people to catching Criminals to sniffing out drugs, they go above and beyond to provide an outstanding service to the community in which they serve.

They risk their lives so we can stay safe and feel protected.

We invite individuals and businesses to join us in supporting retired Police Dogs in Queensland. Your donations will go a long way towards helping us achieve our goal of providing a safe and secure retirement for these animals.

If you, or someone you know, would like to make a contribution to Blue Paws Association Inc. and help ensure the well-being of retired Police Dogs in Queensland, please contact us. We welcome donations of all sizes and always appreciate the generous support of our community.

Together we can make sure the retired Police Dogs of Queensland are looked after for years to come.
